Five Towns is a family run, independent glazing laboratory, and have been producing quality prescription spectacles since 1959. We hold a wealth of knowledge and experience and use that to produce consistently excellent prescription glazing and uncut lenses.

We have been a long term member of the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians, and are a Varilux Specialist Laboratory and an American Optical Partner Lab and a Hoya Lens Specialist. We are also a member of the Transitions Network

Online Ordering
We now have an online ordering system for uncut lenses, simply fill in the form on the online ordering page. The form instantly emails your order through to us and displays a confirmation page for you.
Order
Tracking
Each individual job is placed in a bar coded tray and entered into the
computer system. This tray is exclusive to the job throughout its
production. The tray's movements within the lab are recorded, via a
number of tracking stations, and this means that we can find any job
quickly should a chase be required. You can also use our
online order tracking
system to see the live status of all your orders on screen, saving
you time and increasing your efficiency.
Stock
Lens Range
We have a very large stock lens range, including 55, 60 , 65, 70 and
75mm lenses. Some of these lenses to a 4 Cyl. This means that we can
often use a stock lens avoiding the cost of surfacing, a saving which is
passed on to you.

Key Aspects
It is important to note that all prescription glazing jobs where a frame is present, have the
frame scanned at order entry, and all centration details are added too.
This means that all calculations made for the production of your
prescription lenses are based on complete
information, rather than surfaced lenses being produced simply to a
diameter.
Many labs charge for this type of lens design, whereas at Five
Towns it is all part of the service.

Lens Surfacing
Our surfacing lab is equipped with some of the latest technologies
available to provide high quality uncut lenses, and to allow our glazed
work to really impress.
Lens Edging
High end machines controlled by experienced technicians makes a good
combination, and when you have a lens surfacing lab under the same roof
things just get better. Our glazing lab includes both the Essilor
Mr Blue edging system and Nidek's robotic edging system, our
commitment to continued investment keeps our prescription glazing at the
highest standard.
All In
Glazing
We offer a number of different frame ranges for our All in glazing service, at good discounts. Ranges
include Pennine, Ferucci and International Eyewear.
We offer a free local van delivery service!
For those beyond the range of our vans, we offer the choice of Royal Mail or Hayes DX delivery( OCS).
